Wonderful portrait. A great example of the beautiful and tasteful vision of La Esmeralda, the model, when she is designing a concept for a picture. I like a lot the angle of the shot. I think that it helps to increase the impact of the photograph. The selected location is elegant and spectacular, definitely it gives the proper ambiance for the effect. The wardrobe is nothing less than extraordinary and when it is used by a model like La Esmeralda, its visual value increases at maximum. Each element of the picture was carefully chosen and all together make a masterpiece of art.
The outfit is very well done. The black lace was used to the best effect without being over used. The choker is a nice contrast; being more straight laced than the more intricate brocade on the bodice. However, the parasol does need to have some sort of lace accent like all of the other pieces for it to work. The tiara adds a very refreshing sparkle to the otherwise matted effect of the satin(?) skirt. While it would be nice to see a more vivid coloring to the roses in your hair, to contrast with the rather subtle colors of the dress, I like how the current coloring of the roses matches the gilding around the painting and the sash inside of it.
As far as the photography work goes I am not well versed in that medium, so the only thing that I can recomend to change is to make sure that the mirror is clear unless the green thing in the mirror was intentional. As wonderful as the outfit and the scenery are what makes this truely intriguing is the offset of the camera angle. What would have been a merely pretty picture became beutiful when that technique was employed. Cudos.
OK, everything here is gorgeous, but how is it even the umbrella is possibly the most beautiful I've ever seen, too?! Great work modeling here, you look wonderful. Such an amazing job on the makeup and hair.
That outfit and scenery are absolutely amazing . Your expression looks so dreamy, as through your eyes, the world truly is beautiful . The contrast of the light-colored umbrella and the black glove pouring into it, are awesome. I so love this. !!!
I would have liked to have written a well though out critique like those before me but alas all I have is WOW, your outfit is superb, you look sexy, seductive and classy all at the same time. An instant favourite!
Ooh, very regal, very nice-looking! Gorgeous. I especially love the pose and the hair. The way the shoulders are tilted, and the hair frames the face so very well, too! All kinds of stories pop up in my head for this one. Evil and good, wicked, nice, short, long, fantastical, realistic... very nice!
The make up is light enough to mimic the Victorian age. Looks like you literally step into the times. The offset was cleverly done especially the angle lending to the focal point being the soft features of your face then traveling right to the cherubs in the background painting which then expand into the intricate details of of the (perhaps a makeup vanity area?) your standing in front of.
I like the clockwise flow of it. The details in your dress along with the choice of colors being gold in the molding of the vanity, to the umbrella and then lighter beige in the corset lends to that soft flow from your face. I had no choice but to have elevator eyes in this photo for the angle of perception in the umbrella coaxes the eyes to flow over your wonderfully curvaceous hips up the arms over the supple tops of the breasts area pulled upwards across your neck by the collar, arriving back over the soft lines in your face thus creating a continuous loop.
The soft blush of the makeup is just enough lending to emote blushing in your face because you've watched the coveted flow of ones eyes over your beauty. Very lady like and nicely done leaving enough to the imagination that one is a lady in social gatherings with the inquisitive desire to find if one is a mistress in more intimate exchanges. Bravo!
There's not one thing that I didn't enjoy about this picture.
thank you very much for your wondeful and detailed comment! I am happy to read tha you like it The corset was made by ~v-couture-boutique who makes some of the most amazing corsets and the skirt was borrowed from a friend
You're very welcome. I figured it might help since so many other comments have been sorely lacking in inspirational feedback aside from them just liking it or saying good job. I mean how are we as artists supposed to learn to capitalize on our strengths and strengthen our weaknesses if we do not receive constructive critiques no?
Thank you for the link though I won't be wearing them myself, HA, it will definitely provide me with perhaps some inspiration in other artistic mediums seeing as how I do want to reach out into every field I possibly can and do well at or pass along the opportunity to others who I know are better than I.
You take some of the most amazing photos and if you do the photo shop yourself I tip my hat to you. You're photos have provided me endless insights and inspirations into a comic book character I'm working on in collaboration with my brother. It's going to be our own company and comic characters and I will be sure to add you in the thanks page of our comic and if you do not come across it I'm going to be sure to upload the appreciation page here or to your facebook fan page. Either way you'll be accredited the inspirations given and when I'm making much more money than I am now, I'll make sure to hire and or, pay you for your efforts.
As always I look forward to your future works and will do my very best to provide honest and helpful feedback though I find myself hard-pressed to improve upon your fantastic formula.
Hi! I did not see your reply for a long time as my inbox is always so full - but I wanted to say thank you again and I am really looking forward to your comic book - I am pretty curious what the characters will look like when you say that I was some kind of inspiration
Since I'm modeling a character after you I was wondering if perhaps I could give you some inspiration to do a photo piece or two.
So think of an evil Chimera (not that there has ever been a "good one" portrayed) coming to life in a woman's body i.e. yours. Of course since you are an artist yourself albeit with your costumes and your body, feel free to be as creative as you like. Eventually, when my company takes off and I'm able to spread the wealth, I have full intentions of collaborating with you and yes obviously paying you for your efforts. I don't know how often you check your facebook page but my facebook page is this [link]. If you have a hard time finding it or it doesn't link you to my page no worries for I sent you a reply there as well.
I imagine you are rather busy so I'll look for your correspondence whenever you are able to.
This picture is what inspired me to do an evil version of my already female Chimera. [link]
Hello, It's no worries replying when you can. In this information super highway era it's amazing any of us can keep up with all these digital mediums so again no worries. The commanding almost regal presence you portray in your eyes as well as the outfits you wear gave me the inspiration to do an evil counterpart (of royal lineage) to the leader of an all female, avengers like team. I've been cooking up the idea of your character being the leader of a modernized hell-fire club. If you don't like the idea I'm open to suggestions as to how you want your likeness portrayed. I appreciate you getting back to me for I can sympathize as to a busy schedule you must have for I'm attending the Art Institute and holy &^%$! Four finals in Perspective Drawing, Photoshop, Color Fundamentals, and Storytelling not too mention completing my online math course, woof! Swamped. Again thanks for replying and I hope to hear from you at your earliest convenience.
