This is an impeccable image of gothic glamour with affectionate, subtle nods to the source material. To wit, this is the best hommage to Poe's Leigia that I have yet to see! The ghostly castle in the background is a nice touch that gives a nod to Poe's words [link] This captures the essence of the character in her prime. Instead of a static, classical pose of portraiture, this is dynamic in showing the magical lady seemingly summoning her lover with a mere gesture. Her bodice constrains with the breathless excitement of the night. Her hair is like the raven wings of midnight. My only quibble would be that, as in the description of her, this should have a radiant smile. Nothing like a wide grin, just simply parting the lips would bring a lunar cresent of beguiling allure into this tableau. I can find no other fault. This is splendid!
I totally love this image!! It's exactly the sort of thing I would have LOVED to have on my wall when I was at uni.......and still would if I was allowed!!
So gothic and tells such a story in it. Simply beautiful!
